Season of Lent
During Lent we make preparations to climb the Holy Mountain of Easter. Attentive to the Word of God and Prayer, we prepare ourselves by Penance for the renewal of our Baptismal Promises.

1. Mass on weekdays during Lent at 9.30 am and 7.30 pm.
2. There will be a short version of the Rosary every Monday and Wednesday at 3 pm in the Parish Church, and Friday in Gormanstown Church, during Lent. You are invited to come along with your children to pray.
3. Stations of the Cross will take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 am in the Parish Church.
4. There will be training for Altar Servers on Monday at 7 pm.
5. Practice for the Youth Choir will take place on Monday at 7 pm in the Parish Centre. Anyone in the age group 13 to 25 in welcome.
6. There will be an Information Meeting about Liturgy on Monday at 8 pm in the Parish Centre. The term Liturgy refers to everything we do here in the church, and refers in a special to the Mass. All are welcome to attend. It will be followed by a training day on Saturday 21st March. The purpose of the Training Day will be to establish a Liturgy Team in the Parish. Part of the task of the Liturgy Team will be to make the Liturgy more personal and inclusive of all ages, genders and social groups.
7. There will be no Parish Pilgrimage to the Holy Land this year due to the small level of interest. We will look at it again next year.
8. The Dublin Diocese is inviting applications for the Permanent Diaconate. The programme of preparation involves a substantial part-time commitment over a four year period, and an awareness of the need for on-going formation after ordination. Applicants should be over 25 years of age (if single) or over 35 years of age (if married) and must be under 60. Further information is on the diocesan website.
9. ACCORD Dublin urgently needs men and women to deliver Marriage Preparation Courses. There will be an Information Evening for those interested at ACCORD, Harcourt St., Dublin on Tuesday 31st March.
10. After Holy Communion there will be a short report from The Pastoral Council.
11. In the Offertory Procession we include with the Bread and Wine this week’s image from the Trocaire Lenten campaign and we place it with the Lenten Space in front of the Altar.
