5th Sunday of Lent 29 March 2009
Year of St Paul, Apostle, 28 June 2008 – 29 June 2009, commemorating the 2000th anniversary of his birth.
The Conversion of St Paul, 25 January; Solemnity of SS Peter and Paul, Apostles, 29 June.
Season of Lent
During Lent we make preparations to climb the Holy Mountain of Easter. Attentive to the Word of God and Prayer, we prepare ourselves by Penance for the renewal of our Baptismal Promises.

1. We acknowledge your continuing generosity to the Two Collections taken up at Mass. Despite the recession contributions to these collections have not changed.
2. The proceeds from the Parish Feis came to €4,470.00. Sincere thanks to the many people who give generously of their time to make the day enjoyable for all participants.
3. Our new Funeral Ministry Team will be formally introduced to the Parish at 11 Mass this Sunday.
4. There will be training for all Altar Servers on Monday at 6.50 pm in the Parish Church.
5. There will be an Information Meeting about Child Protection for all users of Parish Property on Monday at 8.30 pm in the Parish Centre. All with an interest in this very important topic are welcome to attend.
6. There will be a meeting to begin preparations for Cruinniú Chríost on Tuesday at 7 pm in the Parish Centre.
7. The new Liturgy Team will meet on Tuesday at 8 pm in the Parish Centre.
8. The Pastoral Council will meet on Wednesday.
9. The children preparing for First Holy Communion will feature at Mass next weekend.
10. Friday of this week will be the First Friday of April. Mass will be offered for all whose names are on the Altar List of the Dead. Holy Communion will be brought to the sick and housebound of the Parish.
11. The schedule for Holy Week will be similar to last year. We suggest you bring your own palms for next Sunday, Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion. The Sacrament of Penance in preparation for Easter will be on Monday of Holy Week at 7.30 pm. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will be on Wednesday of Holy Week at 7.30 pm.
12. In the Offertory Procession we include with the Bread and Wine this week’s image from the Trocaire Lenten Campaign and we place it in the Lenten Space in front of the Altar.
13. At the end of 11 Mass we turn the page of the Gospels placed in our Lenten Display Area to next Sunday’s Gospel reading, which is The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ According to Mark.
